Quality of Life Survey |
| Full-time MBA |
This is the most amazing part of attending school in Finland. Most of
Europe and Russia is within a three-hour flight away, the quality of
life is remarkable and crime virtually nonexistant. Further, there are
never 'extra' charges, taxes or anything to reduce the value of any
goods/services that you will see here. What you see is what you get,
which makes budgeting easy.
As a student you are given a lunch card which is subsidized and entitles
you to lunch at the school cafeteria as well as other cafeterias within
the city, and although I've not tested it, I believe in other towns as
well.
Housing has gone down a bit pricewise, and there is student housing in
apartments. There are no dorms per se, but the housing authority does
have some reasonable student apartments near the school. Getting an
apartment is not impossible either and the school staff are always
willing to assist with translation etc.
The public transportation system is excellent and affordable. One
trolley stops right in front of the school. I find that walking Helsinki
is lovely, and quite easy.
