Most of the social life revolves around your section, especially in the
beginning. Most students are in their mid-to-late twenties, and many are
married, so social life tends to split into a younger single crowd and
an older, couple-dominated crowd. The school is a 10-minute walk from
Harvard Square, so people tend to gravitate there. There are a lot of
clubs at HBS, and many of them give balls - you'll wear quite a bit of
black tie, if you like that sort of thing. In addition there's almost
always some kind of group social event, often at one of the downtown
clubs.
