Careers are up to you. You can do anything if your want it bad enough. Georgia
Tech has a great name in the Southeast, but opportunities around the rest of the
country are really up to you. The school has been putting a lot of money
recently into career services and I expect this to improve. There are a lot of
industrial (mainly atlanta based) companies that come to recruit. Coke, UPS, Home
Depot are the standard and the school has a lot of contacts. Georgia Tech also
has a program called TIGER. This is an entrepreneurial program, where PhD
engineering students are matched with MBA's and Law students (from Emory) to
commercialize products. The entrepreneurial opportunities are very well
developed and Tech is a large technology driven school.
