Admission & Application Survey |
| Ful time MBA |
Admissions was easier for myself as I was already in the PhD program in
the engineering school. I had taken some classes already and after
receiving A grades had references from current professors in the
business program. It seems that admissions are mainly based on GMAT
scores - above 650 as a minimum requirement. Going for an interview
would be advisable as I think that it is always better to get to know
the people that you will be interacting with. This is advantageous for
both you and the admissions director. If you do come, speak to current
students and see if you fit culturaly with the program. The essays
should be business appropriate. The question when I applied was to
invite three people to dinner and who would they be. At the time I
wrote about the Sotherby's- Cristies incident. This was topical,
thought provoking, talked about current business issues and also
brought ethics into the equation. When writing the essay, put yourself
in the possition of the person looking at your essay and see if you
would accept them! With regard to selectivity, as said before, your
GMAT score is important. The school will take a smaller class than
desired to keep the GMAt score higher.
