Admission & Application Survey |
| MBA |
The admissions process is fairly standard, with need to submit GMAT
scores, several essays about career goals and personality traits,
letters of recommendation, transcripts from former schools, and a
resume. Anything that is required for a typical U.S. school is required
for this Spanish school, as ESADE is considered one of the top 3 schools
in Spain, and one of the best in Europe.
One can apply in either English or Spanish, as it is a bilingual
institution.
As to interviews, ESADE is generally much stricter with Spaniards, as
they are located geographically closer than many other candidates. I
believe ALL Spaniards must have an interview, and some even take an
entrance exam. As to farther flung candidates (I was in Tokyo when I
applied), ESADE may waive the interview requirement as it is
logistically very difficult to require an interview for international
candidates. Sometimes the short-interview at the MBA school fair will
suffice for ESADE's purposes, as they keep a record of who attends!
ESADE tends to be selective in that most of the students have at
least 4 years of work experience. Many students are multilingual,
knowing 3 languages or more. And a considerable number of candidates
possess international experience before attending ESADE.
The GMAT average is around 600/650 presently, so the scores are
competitive.
