The career management center (cmc) does a good job of attracting companies to
campus and helping students to establish networks. But, make no mistake that the
job search is all your own. There is no hand holding in this process and you need
to come to school ready to hit the ground running. There are a number of
top-notch companies that interview on campus and their recruting activities start
very early in the year.
In the marketing field, there is no question that employers hold Fuqua in high
regard. P&G, Johnson & Johnson, etc. all come to school expecting to hire a few
Fuqua students for jobs/internships. The job arena can be a little more
challenging in the finance sector. All of the top banks, etc. come to Fuqua, but
the jobs are much more competitive. This is primarily because the alumni networks
are not as established as they are with other schools. Being only 30 years old,
this seems to be a bigger problem for Fuqua than other places. But, as the school
grows and alumni move up, we have been seeing this trend start to change.
