The Tuck students are fairly to themselves, although no one appears to
mind. The exception is for those (few, but I was one of them) who
venture out to take kayaking lessons or join the Dartmouth outing club
for backpack trips.
In truth, there's SO MUCH formal and informal social life that you
don't really need to venture outside of the Tuck community. The Winter
Carnival ski and other fun snow events draws a crowd from around New
England, the ice hockey team is full of novices having a blast, and the
weekly pub night is yet another case of one school "taking over a
restaurant", in this case one with a very nice bar!
The informal social life at Tuck is where it's at and you'll never be
short of things to do, be it outdoors, hanging out, or attending
parties. The trick is to balance it with the need to study, get a job,
and grab the odd hour of sleep.
