Cranfield University is a small campus of few hundreds of students and
therefore there is no need for a great number of bars and restaurants.
MBAs generally meet at the Social Club for a pint, a football or rugby
game or for parties. There are 2 other pubs, one of them usually open
till late.
At the beginning of the MBA, students are presented the clubs of the
previous year and are offered the possibility to take them over or set
up new different clubs. The only limit at Cranfield is your imagination.
The highlights of my year at Cranfield are:
a) Trip to Boston to take part in the MBA World Football Cup organised
by Tuck BS.
b) Regatta in Cowes (Isle of Wight) organised by Cranfield.
c) Burns night
d) London Business School traditional sports day
e) WACS Parties (WACS are 26 hours individual assessments: students are
given a case study on a Friday at 11:30 and must deliver a 1,500 words
report by 14.30 on Saturday next day)
f) End of terms parties
g) Weekends barbeques and kitchen parties.
h) International Party.
I was an active member of the Football, Basketball and Golf Clubs and of
the Investment Banking Club.
Other students trained for and ran the London marathon in April to raise
funds for a charity.
Should you need more options for fun, Milton Keynes is just 15 miles
away and offers several entertainments: restaurants, pubs, cinemas and
clubs.
