Admission & Application Survey |
| Full Time MBA |
I was able to apply to Cranfiled via the Web, which made it extremely
helpful for me because I live in Saudi Arabia and it would have been a
bit difficult to send mail on time to either the UK/US. Manchester
Business School, Warwick, Olin business school and Rochester also
recruited me. However, I only applied to MBS and got accepted but I
decided to go Cranfield instead because it was more established. I also
got wait-listed and later accepted in Georgetown, but the one year
factor made Cranfield more appealing. The application form was very
organized and the essay questions were precise. They wanted to know
things about my background and my potential to add value to their
school. I had to write 5 or 6 essays. I also had to get above a 600 on
the GMAT (620) and since I studied in the US (high school and
university), they didn??t require an English proficiency test.
I made my decision to apply to Cranfield based on its ties with major
companies in Europe, the quality of its professors, the location (next
to London), rankings and I used the which MBA book and the How to get to
a top MBA program books to help me decide. Before joining Cranfield I
used to work in a tobacco company and we had ties in Europe, so I
contact my collages in HSBC, D&T, Arthur D Little and others. They all
told me to chose Cranfield without hesitation, but warned me to expect a
very tough and rigorous program.
I had two interviews and was asked to prepare a 3-minute presentation.
The first interview was on the phone and I was asked to give the steps
of consulting an aviation company that is losing to no-frills airlines.
I didn??t get the topic beforehand, so I had to come up with a plan right
away. The conversation lasted for about 45 minutes. After that, the
interviewer asked me if had any questions for him and started giving me
a brief on the program. The second interview was 1 month after that and
I had to give a presentation to a financial advisory board on a
valuation project. I knew then that this school means business. They
were selecting people based on their scores, skills and experience. I
got the acceptance letter 4 days after my 2end interview and decided to
go right a way!
