It's small and slow paced. Coming from California, it was a big cultural shock, but I can't think of a better way to spend two years than getting out of a large city and enjoying a true college town. Ithaca has a nice selection of restaurants, bars and cultural activities, especially given it's size. Having two universities in town definitely helps. And it's only a four hour drive to NYC.
