Contrary to popular belief, Columbians are extremely supportive of one
another and competitiveness is in the eye of the beholder. If wanted,
Columbia can provide a tight-knit community of classmates who turn out
to be lifelong friends. Then again, if you are looking for anonymity at
school so you can live your secret double-agent life in the City,
Columbia is a much better choice then, say, Tuck. Happy Hour on
Thursday nights is a big favorite, and how much your social life
revolves around school will depend on you and how good your Cluster
Social Reps are in the first two terms. Local watering holes include
Lion's Head Tavern on Amsterdam and 102nd and West End on Broadway.
