Quality of Life Survey
Full-time MBA program Do you like New York? If so, Columbia is great. Living in New York is quite different from most places in the U.S. - Most students have to find their own housing (university housing is available to some students coming from more than 250 miles away, but many students were already living in the NY area), and having a car is prohibitively expensive due to limited parking. The B-school's facilities have improved since the joint business/law building opened a few years ago, but the school is still fairly crowded. It can be hard to find a good spot in the library, and it is nearly impossible to find a random open classroom for group meetings. The neighborhood around campus, Morningside Heights, has improved dramatically over the past 10 years, so crime and safety should not be a consideration while on campus or on Broadway.
