Columbia's campus is located in Morningside Heights, on the fringe of
Harlem. However, if you keep your wits about you, you're unlikely to
encounter any trouble around campus. It is an urban campus, no doubt,
but they've done a respectable job carving out what feels like a
University setting (versus the NYU "campus", it's a dream). The
Business School itself is composed of two buildings: Uris Hall, the
School's original and still primary home; and Warren Hall, which is
shared with the Law School. Uris is not appealing to the eye and lacks
some amenities, but the School has been assiduously refurbishing over
the last decade. Warren Hall, though several blocks from Uris, is a
state-of-the-art facility. You will not have access to student housing
unless you're relocating from a fairly distant land; typically, you're
on your own and likely to experience some sticker shock as you look
around. After a couple of years in New York City, you may feel like
you've had enough to last you the rest of your life, but hopefully you
will have broadened your horizons and enjoyed yourself in the
meantime.
