Admission & Application Survey
Full-time MBA program As usual with all top-tier B-schools, every part of the application process is important. What is true, however, is that CBS puts a strong value on academic performances and GMAT results. If you do not have 700+, do not waste your time applying to CBS. Diversity is one of the key differentiating factor of CBS. As such, although essays are not that important for CBS, try to clearly explain why you think you are unique and will add a little of diversity to the school. This can include your nationality, your international experience and your work experience (particularly if you have a technical / engineering background: most applicants come from investment banking or consulting - having a different kind of background is considered a plus). Last, do note pass the opportunity of an interview: CBS asks alumni to help with interviewing candidates. A good feedback after an interview is definitely a big plus. This is not hard to obtain, as most alumni remember when they were themselves applying to B-school and just want to help. CBS offers to choose between 3 choices of interviewers. Choose wisely someone with the same kind of background as yours: this might help. This is particularly important if you are applying from abroad, like I was.
