Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time MBA program |
Columbia Business School (CBS) largely uses alumni to conduct
interviews -- this is a hit or miss process depending on the indvidual
who get assigned to you. I had a former investment banker who
strangely proceeded to conduct a technical interview. Fortunately for
me, I am ex-investment banker so things went quit smoothly.
If you get rejected, reapply. I was dinged on my first attempt, but
got in the following year.
My general comment on the admission process is to be thoughtful about
what you want to do in your career and why Columbia will help you
achieve your career goals. Make sure your essay / interview both
credibly reinforce this message.
Columbia has been come increasingly selective with given the rise in
applications in the recent year. I think CBS is now at a sub-10%
acceptance rate.
