| Full-time MBA / Dual-degree Ph.D. Applied Psychology |
Career opportunities at the school follow a boom and bust cycle with the
economy. Generally, it is not on the top of most employers list for a couple of
reasons - reputation as well as the fact that they produce relatively few
graduates in a given year. (There is a great deal of variability from department
to department. The Psychology program is better regarded by employers than the
management program for instance.) The bottom line is that when times are bad,
CGU may be one of the first campuses that employers drop from their on-campus
interview rosters.
The career center does a good job of providing opportunities and individualized
attention. They focus primarily on the MBAs, but when I was there they also
tried
to serve the rest of the campus as well.
The faculty do a good job of incorporating consulting projects and even paid
internship opportunities into their curricula.
