I joined the business club and Alpha Zeta the ag frat because it was
nice group of people. Bars were not really big as Starbucks is the
place in Fresno. The Bar crowd is older and more blue collar here. Most
Starbucks have large sitting areas and encourage discussion groups.
Marie Callendars (pie), Tahoe Joe (steak), and the various Thai,
Chinese, and India restaurants are popular. The jazz on Thurs at
FigGarden Shopping parking lot is very popular as are the park
concerts. The coffee shops in the tower district and the juice bars at
River Park are popular as they have indoor and outdoor tables as does
Starbucks. The visiting lecture series and the guest preformers are
always sell-outs are are the university plays. The new planaterium
evening lecture is an interesting addition. Within 20 miles are two
popular water skiing lakes, within 2hrs are the ski slopes of Sierra
Summit. Climate is condusive to outdoor activity 11 months of the year.
