The Career Services at Baruch are polite and they
do want to be helpful. That said, there are networking opportunities with other
students, most of whom
are working and with professors, most of whom have good connections as well. The
students who have an easier time on the job market used to be those who had
accounting, finance or technology majors. This is what Baruch is mostly known
for. Marketing, strategy and operations are not such strong areas. Campus
recruiting is almost non-existent and even when it is, the companies that
come and the opportunities they have are not all that exciting. They are mostly
geared towards undergraduates and are therefore very entry-level.
