Technology MBA Program (Evening) Since this is a part-time program, the students generally live off campus and scattered throughout the area. The classes themselves are held at an off-campus training facility, which helps in a several ways. First, we don't have to fight with campus traffic or parking issues. Second, the facility is much nicer, with higher-end technology to support the activities. This has included teleconferences with people in southeast Asia. Third, it is quieter, so that we can concentrate better. This building is in great shape and relatively cushy. The program also includes some percs that are wonderful for working students. - They get our books for us and deliver them the first night of class; We don't have to go to a book store except for the elective classes. - Since class is from 6-10 every night, they provide drinks and some kind of food. (Usually appetizers/finger food but sometimes pizza or sloppy joes.) Always something sweet for desert. - There is a dedicated person who helps us with administrivia, from getting our parking passes, to registering us for the classes, to sorting things out with the different departments on campus. - They will provide loaner laptops for those who need them, and have a graduate suite with computers, printers, study rooms and tech support available 24x7. I think the biggest quality of life issues are around the amount of time the work takes up and the lock-step nature of the classes. Since you start and take all your classes through to the end with the same group, there is no easy way to take a semester off if you need to for work or family reasons. It forces you to get through it. There are times that that is pretty hard. At the same time, the drop-out rate is very low. Of the 34 who started last fall, we've lost 1. Your class becomes a group of people who will help if you start to struggle and everyone supports one another.
