Employment Prospects Survey
Full-Time MBA in International Business An MBA at American University is very expensive since it is a private institution. My expectations for a career after leaving AU is still very mixed. AU has a lot of prestige in the community for being a great university however the I was a little disappointed in the salary range offered to me (despite being on AU's Academic Dean's List). Recruiting is par to other universities and help for internships is sub-par. A lot of "foot work" and "networking" is necessary if you want to be noticed and helped to succeed. Overall, I would consider a prestigous state college such as UNC-Chapel Hill which would have lower tuition and fees. If you're on financial aid, this is extremely important since after graduation, repayment period starts immediately. If you have close to $60,000 in loans upon graduation, you need to plan in advance based on your salary expectations. If you're not on financial aid and have the means to graduate without major student loan repayments, AU is a great place to have a great experience.
