Williamsburg is a nice enough town and not terribly far from DC. It is
a strange place because of the Colonial Williamsburg - it has a fair
amount of tourist traffic. But Richmond, Virginia is just up the road
and it is an honest-to-God real city with nightlife, great restaurants,
etc.
