Admission & Application Survey |
| Full time law program |
The people in charge of admissions have changed focus in just the few
years since I was admitted. Previously, the dean of admissions focused
on numbers, but also emphasized unique personal attributes. Now, they
are all about the numbers -- about the only thing that is considered
outside the numbers is race (which can be a plus or a minus, depending
on your color). The best bet for admission: have at least a little bit
higher than the median reported numbers for GPA and LSAT (the median
numbers are skewed downward by affirmative action admissions, so they
are not a good measure of your actual chance of admission; a minority
with average numbers has a very strong likelihood of gaining admittance,
while a non-minority with average numbers is likely to be rejected).
