UVa can't be beat. It is most relaxed, easy going law school you will
ever find. And it is one of the best in the country. Without
exageration, just about everyone loves being here. Because of the ethos
of the school which pervades the place: people treat each other so
well. Everyone seems nice, smart, friendly. You think you are in Lake
Wobegone for three years--and you are. Many social activities, but
since you have to be smart to be there, most people were at least a
little geeky in college so teh partying never gets out of hand. As one
example, in February, Feb Club swings into action. There is a party at
the house of a different law student every night of the month.
Generally well attended, everyone has a great time. There are softball
leagues in fall and spring which just about everyone participates in.
Bar Review on Thursdays (a different bar is chosen every Thursday for
students to meet at). Lots of hiking, movies, dinners, hanging out. It
cannot be beat, and you keep having to remind yourself that you are one
of the elite law schools in the country. How can anyone have so much
fun?
The only drawback? When lawyers complain about what a miserable time
they had in law school, UVa alumni can't join in the conversation.
