From wine and tapas bars to country western dance clubs, we've got it all. UT's undergraduates make up at least 40K of the people living here, so liquor flows freely (a bit too freely at times) and parties are common. Longhorn football brings an added element of fun and excitement - but don't try to drive around the stadium on a game day. That's just asking for trouble. There are too many wonderful restaurants to try in a lifetime - Jeffry's, Fonda San Miguel, and Chuy's are some local favorites. We're all about Tex-Mex here, so come prepared! Despite the affinity for Tex-Mex, Austin is a pretty healthy town. The Motorola Marathon and many other sporting events are held here annually. It's a great town!
