Quality of Life Survey |
| Full-time law program |
UT's campus is beautiful. Brand new, state of the art courtroom for
moot court/mock trial. The TX Supreme Court even hears cases here on
occasion. The library is among the best in the world - and the
librarians are incredibly knowledgeable. All have JDs. Ususally, law
students rent an apartment or house - the school isn't a big help, so
it's a good thing that housing isn't all that tough to find. The
weather is GREAT - and when it's not (August - over 100F), you don't
have to go to school. Crime and safety stats: moderate (not high or
low) according to the Austin Crime Statistics, but we are close to a
higher crime neighborhood (just across IH-35). I always feel safe here,
but that could very well be a false sense of security. For more info,
try a google search on "City of Austin Crime Statistics." The zip code
of the law school is 78705. As far as quality of life is concerned, the
life of most law students is lower in quality than it was before
entering school, but I understand it gets better upon graduation...
