Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time law program |
I applied early decision, but because of a mix-up with LSDAS, my
application did not meet the deadline, and went into the general
admissions pool. Although my application was early, UT does not do a
rolling admissions like some other top 15 schools, so I didn't hear a
response from them until late April, after I'd been admitted to and
visited every other school I got into. Because I'm a minority student,
the Admissions dean was very persisitent about getting me to visit the
campus. I did not fall in love with the school--UT was my backup school
and I'd gotten into my top choices--but i did like the price tag.
Given the number of applications the school receives, I highly recommend
applying for early action--it's nonbinding and they rarely deny early
action unless there is no chance of you getting in. It mainly means
your application gets evaluated more than once if they decide not to
admit you early--all the early applications that do not receive a firm
accept or reject are placed in the general application pool. You may be
subject to waiting almost 6 months for an answer, but there's also
potential to hear in just a few weeks. `
