Penn Law is pretty social and laid back. It's really not cut-throat like
a lot of other schools and that's not just a cliche, it's actually true
(except for a small group of people from Cornell that always seem to
clique together, share class outlines only among themselves etc.) But
the general rule is a cooperative help-each-other atmosphere. Center
City bars are popular, like Roosevelt's, The Bard, and Irish Pub, and
Woody's if you're gay, as are some bars down in Old City. Rittenhouse
Hotel's Boathouse Row Bar is also a nice, little bit more upscale place.
If you're on Law Review or another journal, then some of your social
life will be hanging out at the journal office or going to a Law Review
or journal party.
