On-campus housing is run-down but a good deal; people make fun of it, but
it gets all kinds of students (not just 22 year olds) and is much easier
to get rid of in the summer. It's hard to cook in there but it's so much
cheaper than many things in Philly. Center City is where you'd want to
live, probably, but Philly housing has gotten much more expensive over
the past three years, and now is still nothing compared to New York, but
at least $800 for a one-bedroom in Center City. West Philly is cheaper
but a little dodgy with respect to crime and shady guys hanging out, and
I lived in New York before I came here, so, I have a pretty high
tolerance for shady dudes hanging out. People also live over near the Art
Museum, which would be a bus or bike ride to school. The law school
building is OK, kind of like a nice public high school. It's nothing too
fancy, but it works.
