| Full time law program |
I don't know much about careers. I mostly applied for public interest jobs for
1L summer, sent out a bunch of resumes in January, and have only been rejected,
but I think it will work out eventually. I have an interview with a law firm
through spring on-campus recruiting, but I'm not holding my breath, because that
seems reserved for students who got straight As. Penn encourages first years to
apply to volunteer for judges for 1L summer, and if you want something other than
that, you're more or less on your own. Penn's career office is small, but tries.
Other people on this forum have written things like, "Employers have great
respect for Penn's reputation blah blah," and I can say, as a first-year, I don't
really know what those people are talking about. Maybe that comes up more for
2Ls, or those comments were written in a different job market, but no one has
come beating down my door to hire me for 1L summer.
