Social Life Survey
Full-time law program Social life in Norman is not social life in NYC or even Dallas. It is a fun town with quick access to Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City has undergone a complete renovation of their downtown area called "Bricktown." It is a fun place to party but the drive home can be perilous. Norman's scene is mainly bars with beer specials that cater to the 21-23 crowd. First year law students at OU are grouped into sections which have all of their classes together and form a ready-made group to go out with on Thursday or Friday night, or Saturday, or sometimes on Sunday through Wednesday nights. There are a lot of fun beer bars, the staffs are all young and friendly and there are always cheap drink specials to be found. Restaurants are okay, very few in Norman outside of national and regional chains. Oklahoma City has some excellent dining opportunities as do surrounding communities.
