Ann Arbor doesn't really deserve its reputation for being liberal,
artsy, or clean. Central campus housing is controlled by slum lords and
DPS is a joke; I have lived in San Francisco, London, and DC and never
been harassed on the street the way I am here.
Live in the Law Quad your first year: you meet a lot of people, the
rooms are spacious, and you don't have to waste valuable study time
cleaning your bathroom. Expect the food to make you ill, and adjust
your "going out" budget accordingly.
