Massachusettes street is the main drag in Lawrence, just off campus.
It has all the shopping and dining anyone could want. The law school
student body takes advantage of this area regularly. Nearly every week
there is a law-sponsored event at a bar for everyone to show up and
relax for cheap. The Student Bar Association has organized bus trips
to Royals baseball games, as well as bus trips from bar to bar in
Lawrence. The social scene is very healthy. It is hard to not have a
friend after the first week of classes, and impossible not to know over
half the class by the end of the first semester.
There are many student groups to join at the law school as well.
Usually these are dominated by students motivated in the subject matter
of the group, but if you want to get invovled, it's simple and you're
very welcome. Many of these groups sponsor their own events throughout
the year, including road trips to conferences.
