There will be a mix of bi-coastal ivy league types who can be congenial
(or sometimes not), total midwesterners from places like the U of
Michigan, and others not so easily categorized, but we socialized a
good deal all got along fine I thought. There is a weekly and popular
cocktail hour called the wine mess, and alot of lasting friendships
are made even in the midst of the mad frenzy that is situation normal
at Chicago. Some, particularly those who lived on North side, had or
developed circles of friends outside of the law school and that of
course has a salutary effect, one which diminishes the "fish bowl"
sense that one gets seeing so much of the same 170 people three years
in a row.
