Employment Prospects Survey |
| Full-time law program |
The campus recruiting process works pretty well. There are both fall and spring
on-campus interview programs, and there are at least 5 or 6 people working at
Career Services.
Even during the past few years when firm placements have been harder to obtain,
I know alot of people who got jobs with great firms. That isn't to say that I
also don't know people who had to fight all the way to the end of the year to
find a job. Eventually finding a job however isn't much of a worry since
everyone from UCLA pretty much can find a job if they really want to work.
As far as prestige with employers, most firms like UCLA, but the really big name
firms still prefer Boalt or Stanford students in California or other students
from big-name East Coast schools like NYU or Harvard. Despite that obvious fact,
UCLA does well in placement and I know alot of people who got summer associate
spots in firms that had filled the rest of their summer associate class with
Harvard and NYU students.
