Admission & Application Survey
Full-time law program, public policy program I was in the law/public policy joint degree program, for which one can apply at the beginning or after one year in either program. The law school is quite difficult to get into. It helps a lot to be a resident of California (quota) and it seems to help to have a touch of social consciousness in your work experience or extracurriculars. But mostly one must have good grades and stellar LSAT scores. The students at Boalt are mostly young, and relatively accomplished, but not necessarily bright. The policy school is less focused on stats and more focused on goals and experience. The students there tended to fall into two groups, right out of college on a stipend or scholarship and back after years of work and ready to move onto the next step in their career.
