Quality of Life Survey
Full-time law program I can't imagine a better place to attend law school than Texas Tech as far as quality of life goes. Law school's pace is hectic. If you live in a big city, the pace of city life is equally hectic. Lubbock, Texas, forces you to slow down and breathe. No matter how crazy your schedule is at school, you always know that the checker at the grocery store is going to talk to you for ten minutes before he or she will let you go home with your macaroni and cheese. I really think I would have had a much less successful law school experience if I had stayed in a large city like where I grew up. In addition, Texas Tech has a lovely campus (it's a dead ringer for Stanford, even if it is in the middle of west Texas. The fact is, the university is the center of life for Lubbock. All the best restaurants are near campus, housing is comparatively cheap (I rented a 4 bedroom house in a great neighborhood for $800 a month), and Lubbock is a very safe community.
