Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time law program |
As with all law schools, grades and LSAT scores are paramount,
particularly if you are hoping for a scholarship. However, the
admissions committee gives a great amount of weight to essays in
situations where two applicants are on the cusp, so it is important to
show why you should be chosen.
Although Texas Tech is not anywhere as close to as selective as the
University of Texas, it is still somewhat difficult to get in and is
becoming more difficult with each passing year. In addition,
scuttlebutt is that the school plans on decreasing the size of the next
couple of incoming classes. This will make competition even more
fierce. (As a side note, the reason classes have been so large lately
is that the school began giving admissions decisions sooner than in the
past. As a result of that change and the improving reputation of the
school, more people accepted the invitation to attend Tech Law than the
admissions committee expected. Quite a nice problem to have, overall.)
