For being in the NE Rust Belt, Syracuse is actually somewhat
underrated. The rent around campus is inflated, but if you take some
time you can find some really good deals (like a big 3BD house for
$600/mth). DONT LIVE ON CAMPUS, SU rips you off for what you get.
The immediate area around school is alright, but it turns a bit unsafe in some
areas. Crime is average for other NE schools, but there are
definitely more auto break-ins.
SUCOL recently went through a remodel (1998-1999), so the facilities are
decent. Unfortunately, the Dean didn't upgrade the staff or library
with the new remodel.
