Admission & Application Survey |
| Full-time law program |
The admissions standard has improved each year that I have attended
(currently 3L). I believe the average LSAT score this year was 160. The
application process was standard-I don't remeber anything standing out,
other than finding out almost immediately about getting in. It's a
rolling admission operation.
I attended several open house events at NY law schools and S. JOhn's
stood out because it felt the most natural. The students all said
wonderful things about the school. I could tell they were very sincere.
Also the faculty members were very approachable adn helped with all my
questinos-which were a ton.
The woman in charge of admissions there was fabulous. She answered
every question honestly and had all the facts at her fingertips.
I would also say that SJU is VERY generous with its financial aid
packages. The majority of my friends have substantial scholarships-
average being about half-tuition. I believe they do this to attract
high caliber law students and it defintely works. Many classmates were
accepted to the very best law schools as well as SJU and chose SJU
because of their scholarships. It is also very easy to retain you
scholarship as well. At many schools you must be in a ridiculous
percentile of your class, but at SJU it's only top 50%.
