There several options for lunch around the school, as many of the office
buildings have food courts and/or restaurants. Fast food is just a
couple blocks walk to the Park Mall, which has a nice food court,
Bennigans and Ninfas for great Mexican food. The most popular haunt
though has to be Josephine's across the street for Italian. Being
downtown, there is easy access to lots of bars and restaurants via the
downtown trolleys (which are free). In addition, the rail line opening
later this year will pick up students 2 blocks over and can take them to
the bars on the other end of town or be used as transportation to class
if you live in the Medical Center. Downtown is the hot place to be, so
you'll be close to the action. The Student Bar Association hosts
socials in the atrium with beer, wine, cokes and pizza. There's a chili
cookoff each fall and a Halloween carnival that alot of students bring
their kids to. There are also beginning and end of the semester socials
at local bars. There are no Greek fraternities since it's a stand alone
school, but there are legal fraternities to join. As far as bars go,
the favorite happy hour place has to be hands down Cabo. They have
killer margaritas and you can get great fish tacos to sober up. Sambuca
Jazz Cafe is great too for happy hour and a nice dinner with a live
band. There are so many places to go downtown that it would be hard to
list them!
