Many of the top firms in the country interview at Rutgers. However, many of my
West Coast friends have commented on the lack of West Coast firms interviewing.
While they all were able to obtain employment with larger firms, they did most of
the contact work themselves. Career placement is a source of constant discussion
among law students. It appears that the geographic diversity of the student body
has out-paced career services out of state recruiting efforts. Many students are
frustrated with the problem and the administration is aware of this and changes
are being seen. Many students simply call the firms recruiting chair and ask
what the procedures are for submitting a resume from a school the firm does not
recruit at.
