Quality of Life Survey
JD Columbus is a fairly decent place to live. It's cheap and has most of what one might want in a city of one million, including lots of eats ranging from cheap to expensive. Decent student hosuing within walking or biking distance is affordable. (I biked from 2 miles away.) The campus area is rather run down and tawdry looking, and is being reconstructed. The area around the law school has been almost entirely torn down. It was fairly sleazy when I was there, and women were somewhat nervous about walking alone, but that may have changed with the deconstruction of the area. I never knew or heard of anyone in law school who was actually a victim of street crime. The OSU campus is huge, but law students rarely get far away from the law school itself, which is merely a tolerable place to spend time. The law library is large and excellent, but windowless.
