You can live on campus..I dont. Lake Shore Center is big and old. Bice
pool though and decent weight room/ ercise center, but its no Coles
(NYU's gym). I live about 6 miles north wehere the rent is cheaper and
the apartments are bigger, but I am still on the lake so I am freezing.
When coming to NU don't forget to bring winter I mean sub arctic gear...
you'll need it!
Being from NYC there is not much that scares me out here, especially near
the school. It is near Michigan Ave better known as the miracle mile-
Chicago's answer to New York's Madison, 5th and Park Avenues rolled into
one...need I say more.
For the automobile challenged, you can get pretty decent high rise
housing around the school. Going rates in a doormanned building is about
$900-$1000 for a studio. Oh there is a wonderful police presence. I don't
know about you, but I always feel better when there are armed school
police patrolling at all hours of the night!!!
