Quality of Life Survey |
| JD/MBA program |
One of the strengths of the JD/MBA program is the quality of life
factor. Chicago is the second largest business and legal market,
exposing JD/MBAs to internship, volunteer and career opportunities in
both law and business. The law school is located in the heart of the
Magnificant Mile, and is within walking distance of major
shops/boutiques, restaurants/bars, museums, Lake Michigan, and tourist
attractions. The school is also a train ride away from major sports
venues and downtown law firms, banks, consulting firms, and other job
prospects. The neighborhood, "Streeterville," is upscale, and rather
expensive. Graduate student housing is available (across the street
from the law school), and is reasonably priced. Campus police patrol
the area frequently, and shuttle service between the downtown campus
and Evanston is available, too.
The Evanston campus (where JD/MBAs spend their second year) is
different in the sense that Evanston looks, sounds, and feels like the
traditional undergraduate campus. Located in the first suburb north of
Chicago, it is more laid back and quiet (and only slightly less
expensive to live) than downtown. A car is recommended.
