I had an interview with a 500+ attorney firm and I am still waiting for the
response now. I got the interview as did others in my class without any grades.
The OCI at NU is very very thorough. They helped me get my two-page resume to a
nice concise one page while at the same time adding more jobs and
information...amazing, but true.
I am a 1L. As a 1L you may consider yourself lucky to get a firm job the first
summer.
Believe it or not NU has a large Public Interest Law group. The centers for
career advancement always sends emails about opportunities in the public interest
law sector. There is also a winter OCI program and several opportunities to meet
firm representatives for cocktails and the like. The school's organizations also
have guest speakers that come to the school to lecture about job opportunities,
give job hunting tips and the like.
NU has a 96% placement rate... like they say around here "don't worry, everyone
here gets a job"...I'm starting to believe it.
