The NYU degree helps, especially now, with the school's excellent showing in the
rankings. Having been out of NYU in excess of 25 years, I can attest to the
extremely favorable impression that an NYU Law School degree has.
Placement office is helpful IF what you want is to go to a firm that interviews
on campus. They have less information about smaller firms, and almost no
information about corporate counsel positions. Also, out of town employers are
not well-represented, although they do have a list of where local alumni are
working. Placement staff wants to be helpful.
