I found my job with NO help from NYLS' career services. Although, I think, I
obtained a solid education that will put me right up there with the ivy leaguers
and maybe even over some of them, I will always have to struggle to get a job at
a good firm. There are those firms and recruiters
that I like to refer to as "school snobs." They only hire Columbia or NYU grads
and wouldn't even give my resume a two second look. Is this fair, of course not,
but what can I do about it. I did however land a job with one of the most
prestigous firms in NYC if not the nation but that was not because of anything
the law school did for me. But I think this is problem of the whole
system and not really the law school.
