There're a couple bars down the street from the school--the Dubliner,
Irish Times, My Brother's Place (used to have $12-all-you-can-drink beer
nights on the weekend, not sure if they still do). I found that it was
tough to find time for a social life between homework and working.
There are a lot of student groups (various religions, social causes, two
legal fraternities, a singing group and a theater group, etc...) and a
lot of journals, and of course there's a great deal of nightlife in the
Baltimore-Washington area, as well as pro soccer, basketball, hockey,
baseball, football. Also lots of museums and tourist attractions of all
kinds, obviously. I'm not sure about student faves, but the cool places
are all in Dupont Circle, Adams-Morgan, and downtown in Metro Center.
There's a lot more to do in DC than there is time to do it.
It's important to note that the law campus isn't just separate from the
main campus--it's really far away from it. The DC traffic is such that,
because the Metro doesn't run under the Georgetown section of the city,
it can easily take 45 min to an hour to get to the main campus from the
law campus, so there's not a lot of hanging with undergrads going on.
