| Full-time law program |
If you think you're going to make up for being a nerd in college,
forget it. While there are weekly bar nights, you'll be lucky in your
first year if you can go out any more than 1 night a week. It gets a
little easier in the 2nd and 3rd year, especially if you've already
gotten a job through the on-campus program after your first year.
You make friends initially with those in your "section" - you're
assigned to one your first year. People also bond with others on their
journal or moot court group. Fordham tends to be a bit cliquish, but
there are also quite a few down-to-earth people who are neither snobby
nor obsessive.
The school-sponsored events tend to be at dive bars about a mile north
of campus. They're fun if you don't mind the crowds and the bad beer.
There is no room for house parties, so most of the partying is done
out. No matter how much you drink (and you'll probably drink a lot),
don't hook up with any other law student in front of anybody
else...people will talk about you forever.
