It seems that students aren't really happy about being at Fordham - we
are ALL basically NYU and Columbia rejects and that sentiment is
reflected in a lack of bonding and comaraderie in the first year - the
famous year where we all mythically are supposed to bond. The SBA
committee receives funding in order to sponsor open bar nights, etc.
and as starving students we frenziedly attend those - but in generaly,
there really is no social life especially since more than half of the
students are commuters and rush home to Long Island or whereever after
clases. No Greek system, hmm, thought I saw a lonely sign up for one
Greek group but there were NO takers. The open bar nights are usually
at some cool bars on the Upper West Side such as Amsterdam Cafe and
Spin - as I said before, the location of Fordham is one of its more
salient attributes.
